Does horse shampoo really help thicken and grow?
It was a huge fad in the early 1990s but honesty it was just a fad. For the most part, it was so heavy it weighed your hair down and although you can still purchase it in your local wal-mart, the fad died down for a reason - it wasn't great.

I don't use horse shampoo, but I do use Shapley's MTG. It's safe for humans, but it's marketed for horses. Sounds gross, I know, but it makes my hair grow like a weed. I get about 1 in. a month with it. It's sulfur-based, so I'm guessing that's what is behind the growth.

Hi, well, as you read above, I'm looking for a cheap shampoo conditioner, or maybe a certain brand I'm used to using, like head and shoulders, that would work dramatically because I have extremely, EXTREMELY straight and thin hair. it's not cheap, but pure abundance shampoo and conditioner from aveda is amazing. i always want my hair to be thick and look big with lots of volume, so i also use pure abundance hair potion. it poofs it up reeeeeally great. i'm in cosmetology school and whenever i give someone a ';scene'; haircut, these products work great and they really love them.
also, unfortunately nothing you can buy from like walmart or target will ever do as good of a job as professional salon products :/ so i really couldn't tell you anything cheap that would do as good of a job.

I have REALLY flat hair and did nothing about it for years. I looked sooo blah because of it.
Now I care about my hair and this is my routine, which takes 20 minutes:
- Matrix volumizing shampoo and a little bit of the conditioner (blue bottle) %26lt;my favorite brand!!! dont use the cheap stuff from grocery stores/walgreens...u must use salon shampoo%26gt;
- after washing, towel dry for a bit. Then I use the Matrix volumizing mousse
- Then I use Tigi catwalk (bedhead) Root boost in like 4 areas in the roots. Massage it in evenly
- Next blowdry upward, and with head upside down. Comb fingers through hair upward while blowdrying with an ion blowdryer, with an attachment (the thinning attachment to make air blow through a narrower hole)
- Don't let it blowdry all the way. Then use hairspray. I use ';Thicker fuller hair'; hairspray. I heard ';big sexy hair'; products are good too
- Blow dry some more. Then use more hairspray
- then i put my hair in a half clip and make it pouffy to give it volume. I let it dry as I ride the train to work. Then i take the clip off at work. I leave the hairclip on whenever i'm at my desk so that it can have volume...then when im visiting someone's desk or go to a meeting I take the clip off.

Read the bottle and look for an ingrediant called 'panthenol'. It will open the cuticle layer of the hair strand and make each hair appear thicker. If that that brand doesnt have it there are others that do. I realize this is a stupid question but I'm curious.
For sake of info, I'm 26 with straight, fine Indian hair with a bit of body and I use Mane and Tail shampoo with Infusium leave-in. I've noticed it keeps my hair from breaking and my hair is all-around healthier.
My question: I discovered a single-- yes, one- hair that is easily twice as thick as the rest. It has the look and feel of... well, a pubic hair. Does this mean my shampoo is working or is this just a weird anomaly? Could it also be a precursor to gray hair?

it is a weird anomaly. Shampoo cannot thicker your hair. It can coat it to make it feel thicker and the coating can also protect it. Once the hair come out of the head it is dead, it cannot become anymore than it is other than damage. If the hair is think from the scalp out then you just have a hair follicle producing a thicker hair.Is my hair thickening shampoo working or is this just a bizarre fluke?
I think it's probably just a random thick hair. Either that or it may be product buildup or haircolor buildup. Mane N Tail does work really well and makes hair healthier, so it may feel thicker without actually being thicker, if you followed that!

For sake of info, I'm 26 with straight, fine Indian hair with a bit of body and I use Mane and Tail shampoo with Infusium leave-in. I've noticed it keeps my hair from breaking and my hair is all-around healthier.
My question: I discovered a single-- yes, one- hair that is easily twice as thick as the rest. It has the look and feel of... well, a pubic hair. Does this mean my shampoo is working or is this just a weird anomaly? Could it also be a precursor to gray hair?

it is a weird anomaly. Shampoo cannot thicker your hair. It can coat it to make it feel thicker and the coating can also protect it. Once the hair come out of the head it is dead, it cannot become anymore than it is other than damage. If the hair is think from the scalp out then you just have a hair follicle producing a thicker hair.Is my hair thickening shampoo working or is this just a bizarre fluke?
I think it's probably just a random thick hair. Either that or it may be product buildup or haircolor buildup. Mane N Tail does work really well and makes hair healthier, so it may feel thicker without actually being thicker, if you followed that!

Thickening shampoo in the uk?
hi all, after having my son, a year and a half ago, my hair grew really quickly while i was pregnant so now its real long but very fine, i used to use nicky clark shampoo but i cant find it for sale anywhere so does anyone know of any good thickening shampoo's or any other way, without surgery, to get it back nice and healthy again, i live in the uk and prefer to buy in shop than on-line,

I actually have the opposite problem, but I like Pantene's Sleek %26amp; Smooth shampoo and conditioner. They also have Full %26amp; Thick and Texturize!. I imagine they would work as well as the sleek %26amp; smooth.

I dont see how shampoos can thicken you hair.. BUT, i have a solution. Thats what i did and i did see results:
Combine equal quantities (depending on your hair length-i have shoulder length hair and i use a tiny spoon) each of
castor oil (most important)
olive oil
coconut oil
almond oil
or any other oils you can find ( i dont mean mineral oils)
and honey.
apply this mixture and leave it in for an hour or two before shampooing. It really helps. a spoon of milk addded to your shampoo will help too. good luck.Thickening shampoo/conditioner?

I've noticed my hair density is starting to reduce and has receded from my temples a bit (adult hairline). The density is reduced to the point that I can't really spike up the front the way I like to. Has anyone tried NIOXIN system 1 before? (cleanser, scalp therapy, and scalp treatment). Ive just tried this new Schwarzkopf conditioner recently and it really thickened my hair and put volume to it. Its pretty good its called Schwarzkopf Total Repair Weightless Conditioner Treatment and its for very fine damaged hair and there's no waiting time, hope this helps.

Hi, Thought you might be interested in a really inexpensive yet excellent home treatment. Take a cup of parsley, chopped, and add it to 2 cups of boiling water. Let it steep for about 30 minutes. After shampooing, rub the ';water'; into your hair. Not only will it thicken your hair if you do it regularly, like 2x a week, but your hair is going to shine and be alot more manageable. It's not called the ';hairdresser's friend'; for nothing!.. and it smells really fresh.

The best thing for me is to use a volumising or deep cleaning shampoo, and make sure i keep changing them. also i use a volumising hair mousse (Elvive is good) when my hair is wet! I know someone taht puts big rollers in aswell...
I've tried masses of them...Aussie Hair Thickening is not only good, but also relatively cheap! I felt a real difference.
If thinning hair is a concern, Boots do a pretty effective serum thing but at about 拢24 a pop, it's quite pricey.
Shiseido used to do a very effective hair / scalp tonic although mine was brought in from Japan. You might want to inquire there..

Catwalk itself is an awesome product line! One of my favorites. The problem with products that are labeld like that, however is people think that they use it once and viola...thick, luscious hair. Not so much! You have to continuelly use that product. I'd also invest in some root spray and to blow dry hair! Brushing your hair away and back.Is TIGI catwalk thickening shampoo any good? x?

Could be stress, like people say, in which case it will stop eventually. Could be that shampoo isn't helping - you're seriously using horse shampoo on your head? there are certain hair products u can use to make hair grow in thick but be careful
also try useing a strengthening shampoo because if the hair is not strong it will easily break off leading to thinner hair .. good luck :)
It could be stress. My hair falls out when I'm stressed. Also, your hair could be damaged. Have you dyed/bleached it recently? Do you blow dry or straighten it on a daily basis? There are may things. If you straighten or blow dry, make sure to use a heat protectant before doing either, and try to limit your blow dryer/flat iron's use to only a couple times a week. If you've dyed or bleached it, then give it a break, and see a salon. They can help with that stuff.

I had this happen when I was going through a huge stressful time, it did grow back. It can also be related to a diet issue which is not getting enough vitamins and minerals like the B vitamins, but it can also be related to a thyroid disorder so I would go to a doctor for blood work.
It could be stress - that has happened to me before, and I went to the doctor to discuss it with her. She ran blood tests and they all came back clear. It stopped shortly after that. So, in short, I would go see the doctor if you're concerned about it, and maybe they can find what the problem is.

First off congratulations that you were able to fight it. Now for the question use Sammy products they have a line called Sammy Fat hair 0 calories. That stuff works so good, make sure if your hair if you use mouse on your hair get alcohol free sammy has it and it keeps it from drying your hair out more. G
Pantene is fantastic.I agree with the first girl. Tresseme is really good too.Some even come with tips on how to take care of your hair on the back of the bottle.Which I think is pretty cool.

you should use pantene it works great
I am 37 and balding. However I use Pantine with the purple cap. It's got more conditioner in it to make thin hair look fuller and thicker. I hope this helps you.
I had alopecia a while back and i used this shampoo and had great results. I also did i fact still do a once a week deep oiling with castor oil mixed with olive oil and rosemary essential oil
