I overheard some girls talk about something called thickening shampoo and i was wondering how does it work, is it for black people (will it work on our type of hair),and does it really make your hair thick? How does thickening shampoo work?
I think what it does is make your hair folicles / strands stand out , not lay down smooth . Thus creating the illusion of being thicker. How does thickening shampoo work?
The best I have used is Suave amplifying shampoo...it's inexpensive and works just as well as the more expensive brands. It plumps the hair strands.....it should be fine for any types of hair. It only costs about $2.00...just try it and see.
It strips the hair of any hair care products that flatten the hair so it looks and feels like more hair but it cannot actually thicken the hair. I don't think it would make a difference for black people, but I would check it out with a stylist before spending any money on it.
I use mousse plus Alterna thickening compound. You put a quarter-sized amount on your palms and emulsify (rub together) then put mousse on your palm and rub that all together. Put that mixture on the bases of your hair, not on the ends. Blow dry. It gives you a lot of lift that makes your hair look bigger. Good luck!
Some actually swell the hair shaft from the inside out. I love Dede shampoo made by Davines. They have other products that all work together to help thicken your hair. They are kind of spendy though.
Thickening shampoo raises the cuticle of the hair. May make your hair more frizzy. You may be better off coloring or perming your hair. It depends on the condition of your hair. Perms do thicken the hair. It makes it feel like you have twice as much before.
yes it does i tried it befoore i had thin hare now it looks double sized
